Neither Brit is playing in the doubles and with the FQR matches still on today, most of the R32 singles matches are tomorrow Wed, including both our two.
Yeah, was thinking that when I saw the draw earlier. Bar a poor WC, you're not really going to get a better chance to win at 25k level than this, so fingers crossed Emily can do it.
Not too familiar with Katie's opponent, but I see she did beat Danielle Lao last week in Acapulco and take Perrin into a decider and is playing at home again, so not to be underestimated.
Both are first on and have their matches at 9pm UK time, so hopefully Jo will have her IW match wrapped up by then and then can follow these scores. Looks like Emily is on the main court which I was a bit surprised about given Katie plays a Mexican, but then again, at this level they could all be pretty much the same.
Can't find any odds yet but would be interested to use for a gauge for both. I'd imagine Katie would be favourite, but no idea what the consensus would be regarding Emily.
I couldn't find anything on any of the sites I use, but I have just seen on one of those wincomparator pages that Betfred have Ivanova at 1.80 and Emily at 1.95, so that's roughly 4/5 vs 10/11 in 'real' odds . Obviously odds are just odds and we've unfortunately seen Emily lose to most recently, but that does give me a bit of encouragement - it's not like she's a big 4/1 outsider.
Katie 3/10, Rodriguez 12/5 FWIW.

Last I checked, Emily had an early break point in that first game at 40-30, but just checked and it's *0-3 and the last 2 games have been to love, so she's probably lost the last 11 points.
Set is quickly going away from Emily, a comfortable hold there, *0-5. 19 of the last 22 points. Seems strange how a first set can seem close and competitive and then just completely change.
And then broken to 15 to round off a miserable 20 mins or so. 6-4 0-6 0-0*.
Swan just been broken as well in the second. 2-3*
