Interesting. Brescia is one to keep an eye on (from a GB perspective). Liverpool mother and I noticed she recently changed the flag order on her social media to put the GB flag first. She's dropping down the rankings though, still just 22 but has been in the top 200 before - perhaps a change is needed to kick on (before grass season) a la Choinski ;)

I wonder if Jodie is in the main draw with an SE?
Yes, I agree Ace, I was also wondering whether Jodie will make it here too, or just go straight back to the UK from India. Katy D should also be in the MD.
Good to see Lissey back as well. This is her first ITP tournament of the year, having retired in a British Tour match a few weeks ago and then failing to travel last week to India, as originally scheduled.
That seems quite likely. She was top of the Alts list, several places above Eden, so she would have been in qualifying if it hadn't been for the Final in India. She would be joining Katie Dunne.

Yeah, I hope so, it would be good to continue her momentum especially as an 'earned' reward to bypass quals altogether. I was just thinking from her POV, if she got wind that she had a mix of MDWCs or QWCs for Shrewsbury and Glasgow (which IMO would be as deserved as anybody in contention, if not more), she may prefer to sit out this week and maybe catch a bit of the Fed Cup on the Fri and Sat, if she's going to be reasonably local the following week and just forgot to withdraw from Grenoble or something.
Jodie isn't eligible for a SE as she is on the alternate list; you must on the qualifying acceptance list to be eligible. She's also not eligible as the tournaments are in different continents.
Yes, had in my mind something about having to be the same continent. As Peter says Jodie would have made the final qualifying places, but that continent thing rules her out for a SE plus I guess in theory she could have made qualifying if maybe with difficulty ( though with the same continent rule they save having to make any judgement on intercontinental journeys - if the player can make qualifying and chooses to, fair enough, if not no SE ).

Disappointing start to 2019 for Maia after winning Shrewsbury last year. One of her opponents was Lopatetska, but she's now 0-4 this year and hasn't even won a set yet and has been the 2nd Q seed in her last 2 matches. The opponent today is obviously a good junior and will very likely go on to have a better career, but *she did beat some decent players last year.
She seems to do better at home, so maybe the forthcoming Shrewsbury-Glasgow double might be what gets her going this year.
*Edit - 'she' being Maia in that passage.
