Week 5 - ITF (W15) - Sharm El Sheik, Egypt - Hard

Doubles draw out first, and at least this week the Pitak sisters will only potentially have to play the top seeds in the Qf not the first round (having played the 2nd seeds first up last time).

Emilie is playing with Laetitia PULCHARTOVA (CZE) again and they also have an unseeded pair first round.

Tiffany William is also here this week and in the doubles too with Shanshan GUO (CHN). They get the 4th seeds, a Swiss pair in the first round.

Edit: There was a technical problem there when I was trying to post, someone will need to delete one post.

Didn't think Kasia was going to make it - MTO in the second set after she had just lost a string of points. Well done for getting through.

Emilie and Laetitia get a Walkover in the doubles.
Tiffany + and the Pitaks play later today.

Tiffany + have lost their doubles however to the Swiss 4th seeds 0-6 4-6.

The Pitaks have also started their doubles after the earlier scare with Kasia in her singles match. It's not clear how fit she is though as they've gone down 0-3 at the start of their doubles and 3-12 on points. Hope they pick up.

The Pitaks lost their doubles 0-6 3-6. This is a match I thought they could win, but not sure how fit Kasia was.

Yes not so good for Ola has lost 0-6 2-6. Must admit I thought she would do much better here...

Congrats to Tiff Wiliam for digging out a win against a youngster with clearly a good serve, and who won the first set easily. However Tiff came back to win 0-6 6-3 7-5 securing the only break of serve in the final set. Kucera won the ace count 10-2 and the points count 79-70, but lost the match...

Full round up to come..

3 of 4 wins a good start, with Ola, perhaps surprisingly the sole (and an easy) loser. Much harder match ups to come. Emilie to take on again the same top seed as last week - this time in the second round not first at least - and Kasia will play last week's 2nd seed who beat sister Ola quite easily also in last week's second round. Tiff potentially had the 2nd seed, but faces instead the WC local player, Mayar Sherif, who knocked the 2nd seed out. Sherif reached the QF last week, and so will have an ITF ranking in a week's time.
