A few weeks into the season and we must ask this question.

Broady- could well call it a day at the end of the current season, flashes of brilliance now and then, but never really made on the challenger circruit

Klien- Same as a above but even older

Ward- probably a 150-250 ranked player at best these days, how long will he continue at this level given his age

Evo- Still young enough to have a decent career in the top 100, but with Evo you never know what is around the corner

Glasspool- Never convinced anyone that he has top 200 potential, and only really plays futures, also no longer that young

Murray- could the injury mean he calls it a day?

I don't see the point of this poll.

I'm happy with it. It's not wishing that anyone retires, just analysing who is most likely.

To me, the answer is clearly Andy.

You focus on their tennis level, Vandy, but retiring always means to me that there has to be an alternative attractive option. Hence, why I've always been convinced Dan Evans would come back, whether injured, or banned, or whatever.

Andy has a serious injury, chronic, and has a lot of other options. I'm sure he'll carry on if he can - he loves playing. But there are many other things for him.
No chance of Liam retiring, in my view (too young, not sure I see him as a coach). Glasspool not so sure but still hasn't peaked in his own mind, I feel. If not injured, James will make enough money this year to carry on. Someone like Neil P probably will soon. Billy Harris too. But they're not the sort on your list

9 votes already, clearly showing you're in the minority.

I don't think there is a point to it Julia, but many people on this forum like to speculate.

What will be interesting is if Andy decides he cant play at the level he wants and is therefore frustrated so retired. Would he carry on maybe as a doubles player, teaming up with Jamie.

I agree with CD, the answer for to me is certainly Andy. Though hopefully he won't be retiring !!!

I don't see any of the others listed retiring, well at least not by choice, so unless one of them has very serious injury ...

Well, Bruno would have to either retire or team up with someone else for a start.

There's so many shared posts on Facebook these days that just have smell of  'intention to spread negativity'  and,   in a different way,  I just felt uncomfortable with it.  Perhaps I thought it might be hurtful/negative  if any of the players featured saw it,  amongst other  things.

I think a lot of people are too precious and easily offended and need to take a step back sometimes. Vandy is part serious and part having a joke, thats his style and nothing wrong with that. Hes not abusive or saying anything illegal. Thats where the line is. Its a valid point, Ive went for Murray. Almost zero chance of him playing more than 2-3 years for many reasons. Injury, family, outside interests and also the fact he isnt the type to slog around the top 50 winning the odd ATP. I believe he will only continue if he feels he can win major tournaments.

Further to the poll being negative Id counter it by saying if the players did see such a poll it may inspire them to prove people wrong, thats how Id take it if I were the player. They get far worse on their twitter and instagrams.

I'm in the minority too, by your statistical reasoning, or so it would seem. Except I'm not, because by my reasoning, this poll is worthless, and abruptly looking to cause someone, ... anyone, some pain, and most folk would see that.

Whether any of these players choose to retire is entirely their business, and not a tennis question at all.

If I'm being honest, when I was considering my top 10 players I did wonder if any of them might retire before the end of the season. I came to a similar conclusion to Coup Droit. Andy would be most likely to retire as he's well set up financially and has other projects which could keep him involved in tennis in some way, if that's what he wanted.

I wouldn't like to see any of them retire but sadly it will happen to all of them eventually and for tennis players, like many sportsmen and women, it comes a lot sooner than for the rest of us. I just hope that each of them retire at a point which they are happy with and that they can go on to do something for the rest of their lives, whether that's still connected to tennis or otherwise.

Yes, I would agree with that too. Andy won't continue playing if he cannot be fully competitive playing. And I'm not sure that Andy would rate his own odds of that as more than 50-50 right now. In fact he might not rate his own odds as high as that. But he will give it a go, since he is Andy, and he will give it a go up until Wimbledon at least.

I agree with your sentiments totally.  I would not dream of voting on something like this.
