And indeed the reintroduction of 'proper' men's 25K points ( rather than the planned total removal ) would undoubtedly be helpful. As they are now saying, otherwise the number of ATP points players will be absolutely slashed below previously indicated numbers and progression opportunities greatly limited. So maybe just liaise to try and sort that bit out. Not bothered about what buck they want to pass. Just buck up!

Also, ever thought of indeed just the one rankings scale for players?

Reintroducing weekend qualifying ( even just Sunday ) would help with that potential two qualifying matches in one day issue.

 Note they blame the withdrawal of ATp points for $25k events on the ATP; and the resolution is in ATP hands. The ITF could be fighting over Brexit based on this political analysis!

Some of the lower ranked players have created a new body/union to fight their corner "United Tennis".

By the way, George Bellshaw seems to be one of the top tennis journos at the moment, good for him and the Metro, he does a good job at getting fresh stories that others dont report

Re-post from Transition Tour thread in the Men's section

I am seeing stories on Twitter today that the rankings system is returning to "normal" and that ATP ranking points (and WTA for the women) are being reapplied to ITF tournaments. Also increased draw sizes are being reintroduced to increase playing opportunities.

Yes.  Good news.  As the points tallies are different to the old system, it makes sense to retroactively apply those to exactly 1 year prior to the point where the new system comes into operation.

It'll certainly make life interesting for the players, trying to plan their entries in August. I presume there will be parallel ranking tablea published nearwr the time anyway if not officially by the likes of OER

I have visions now of some of our detail experts furiously trying to work out what points players will have backdated to august on the new system. I wont name names but suspect someone is at it!!
