Re Anderson, yes for me he's definitely through. Nishikori and Fed could yet also get to 2 wins, and among the 3 of them they could all be 2-2 in sets but Anderson would easily beat Nishikori on games % to be one of the two through. Fed needs to win tonight to stay in the mix or it would be Nishikori vs Thiem for the other SF spot.

Ah, looking at SC's BBC link, and more importantly also referring to the tiebreaker rules on the ATP site, Anderson is not quite through yet but as Jon indicated he is as near as dammit.

Although Anderson beat Nishikori 6-0 6-1, if Anderson, Federer and Nishikori all finished won 2 lost 1, sets 4-2 then 2 absolute thrashings of virtually both 0 & 0 in the final matches of Fed over Anderson and Nishikori over Thiem and Anderson could indeed be the one not to go through.

In a 3 way tie, the sets & games record in all their matches count, not just among the 3 tied players which had been my assumption.

So Anderson is only 99+% likely to be through.

Novak comfortably sees off Zverev, so if Isner beats Cilic, Novak is certainly through to the last.

And with Bryan and Sock winning today also, if Kubot and Melo beat Herbert and Mahut, then Bryan and Sock will also reach the last 4 for sure to join Jamie and Bruno (and fortunately be in separate semifinals as well - I think Bryan and Sock are tournament favourites to be frank)

I see on the order of play for tomorrow that Jamie and Bruno are down to play Kontinen and Peers, rather than Mektic and Peya who must have withdrawn, although the ATP is not posting a reason at the moment.

Peya recurring problem would be the guess.

At least it doesn't effect anything re progress to the SF. Jamie & Bruno had won the group, Mektic & Peya were going to finish bottom, with the remaining two pairs playing for 2nd tomorrow.

The other group has gone the more complicated scenario route since Herbert & Mahut beat Kubot & Melo in straight sets.
