I'd love to see Emily put together a good run here, but I fear Junri will be too good for her. Still, at least she already has 1pt for her pains. Does it count towards the WTA rankings? I assume so.

Yes it is a WTA point and should still be as we move on next year.

She now has 14 counters at 25K level or above but it is May since she last added more than a point. That was 19 points from a great week for her of Q and then SF in the Wuhan 25K.

Em lost 76(3) 63.

Went from *1-4 to *5-4 in the first but was broken to 15. She was broken to 15 at *6-5 too, so did have chances to steal that set.

Good news is that she hadn't drawn the top seeds in doubles. Bad news is that her ranking outside the top 300 means she hasn't made the draw at all.
