OK. So now that the cat is out of the bag so to speak, I can confirm from chatting with Jonny in La Manga that he was planning to play with Hugo Nys in Stockholm this week (week 42) as well. However, Nys was injured and so the Luke/Jonny hook up for Stockholm was a last minute one.
As to the personal dynamic between Luke and Jonny, and why they are not playing regularly together, I didn't ask. Whilst I am always after a scoop when talking to players, there are certain places I wouldn't go and if players choose to confide such things of their own choice, I would respect that confidence.
But as I mentioned in a different thread, both Jonny and I did agree that constant merry-go-round of British doubles players changing partners was going "nuts", but likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
Pity but partnerships no doubt take time to develop. A win against a seeded similarly unfamiliar partnership and then 4 & 4 loss to a fairly similarly ranked pair doesn't look too bad.
Be interesting to see how things develop for Jonny and Luke.
