Jack now getting close to 300 still not 18. Very encouraging, making top 200 as a teenager was pretty tight for both Kyle and I think Jay didnt quite do it. I am optimistic that with 16 months to go Jack may manage it by his 19th birthday.

Yes he's got going again very encouragingly after his frustrating lack of matchplay over the first half of this year.

I tabulated in the current Israel M15 thread how he had recently managed to defend in advance most of the ITF points he won so well last August to October thus rising into and well through the 300s in the rankings

46 of these points ( and of his up to date total of 115 ) are due off in the next couple of months so it will be good if he can continue to earn good points whether by the more predictable ITF route or making a move into challengers, to at least maintain his ranking in the short term.

After October he then has relatively very little to defend for the next 9 months.

As put by Steven, with customary dry wit:

"... Jack is however on a 17-match winning streak in matches against opponents who aren't called Yshai Oliel "

The final snippet in Stu Fraser's The Slice column in today's Times (mentioned in the newly started Joe Salisbury thread):

Excitement continues to grow over the potential of Jack Draper, the 17-year-old from Great Britain who has reached his first Challenger quarter-final in Fairfield, California, this week. The last two wins in his eight-match unbeaten streak have come against Jack Sock, a former world No 8, and Donald Young, who was once touted as America's next big hope.  Draper's run so far means he will be close to entering the world's top 300 next week as the best player under the age of 18 in the ATP rankings. A strong finish to the year could even earn him a place in qualifying for the Australian Open in January.

Very pleased to see Jack continue to push on. Development from juniors to seniors is so unpredictable really, jack doing so well at 16 in junior Wimbledon laid down a marker. I hope the 2000/2001 boys push on as a cohort into the top 100 singles/doubles the way the 95ers have.

Hope to see continued upward trend from George, Anton and Aidan ....Non of them really lays down a marker in junior tennis the way Jack did and I honestly feel college tennis would have been a better route for all three having seen has successfully Cam transitioned and the position Paul is now in.

I don't think this got posted before, but there is a short interview with Jack after his win over Sock in Fairfield here;

http://baseline.tennis.com/article/85411/get-know-great-britains-rising-star-jack-draper

He mentions his temperament, short term goals and what is like playing while still growing, the toughest player he has faced so far and favourite player.

Anyone know the latest re Jack, he is probably the player many os expected to push on this year and he has been missing since the first battle of the brits. What injury did he have and presumably it's still affecting him?

Jack Draper has plateaued-and is no longer a lock-in for the top 100

Not sure what happened to him.  There is now 6 players aged 19 above him in the rankings, including Sinner. Draper was meant to be around 100-150 now, but seems be struggling on the futures tour level (or whatever it is called now).

He was going to be the next top 100 player GB produced, but that is not so likely now.

Going through a tough time that's for sure, but unfortunately hasn't had a run of tournaments in a while. Hope he gets himself sorted.

Jack has been given a WC into Miami. That is a huge step up for him.
