I see the bookies have Heather and Muchova both at 5/6 to win here. I guess Hev's last 2 matches have played a part in that. For whatever reason, this is the Czechs first tournament since the US Open where she came through qualifying and had good wins over young Yastremska and more noticeably Muguruza before going down to Barty 3 and 4. Looks like there could have been far easier opponents out there.
Unfortunately Karolina does indeed look an opponent, a good one at that. Breaks Heather for the second time and will attempt to serve for the first set. 2-5*
Yep, 2-6. She is losing QF points from this event last year, but despite that, her recent good run in Canada and US Open quallies should just about make her direct Aussie Open position secure, but it's looking like 3 disappointing results in a row.
Watson breaks to love and takes the second set 6-2, so similar to Muchova in the first who won 6 of last 7 games, Hev wins 5 of the last 6. Deserves a lot of credit as Muchova seemed to be winning most of the games in the first set quite comfortably.
Hopefully she can finish the job as she got back into the mach against Lu last week, only to lose the decider.
