I haven't looked at the stats a a whole lot, but at times his 1st service % was really poor, and this was commented on by other members of the board.  I have every confidence he'll get this sorted in short order.   An excellent prospect for the Challenger circuit next year!

 One thing to add, slightly tangentially, someone had posted some video of this final on Twitter. It had a big crowd, some real atmosphere and it looked like a big deal match for Futures level - I think it was mentioned that Lagos is aiming at Challenger status ( I know many years back https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos_Open_(1976%E2%80%931991) the event was on the main ATP Tour, and it looks like it has been established some time at the current ITF level (and womens ITF) also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governors_Cup_Lagos_Open

But it seemed like a "big" event, and Jack at the end certainly celebrated it as such...somewhere on this twitter link around 23h ago there are highlights of the last game in the final

 I agree, but I think that most of us tend to sort the "neutral" pile on an "as-desired" basis - if someone criticises a player from the undecided bunch (as you say, probably the majority) we tend to lean towards agreeing with the criticism (and sort of putting them in pile 2) or defending the player (and unconsciously putting them in pile 1).

This is often based on who is doing the criticising, or what the criticism is! As an example, I confess to having reassessed my view of Mr Edmunds in light of the near constant "challenger-level" barracking that he gets.

Regarding the challenger level thing with Kyle, I'd certainly say that is a vocal minority ( and quite vocally opposed ). But then some folk being very vocal and repetitive maybe does influence some other people, either instinctively or to really think things through.

I took against Jack at Wimbledon as I thought he was arrogant.  I disliked the way he encouraged the crowd to clap harder at the end of the match when he won.  However, I took on board someone's comments on this forum at the time that I should give a teenager some slack.  In the longer run this has made me happier in that I have been able to enjoy rather than be irritated by his triumphs of the last few weeks.   I suppose this is a milder example of the premise that it is the hater rather than the hated who suffers more from hatred.

It was interesting to look at the GB players earnings this season from Live rankings today - I think it takes singles only, I could be wrong, but no appearance in list for any doubles guys:

A big chunk of Jack's earnings will have come from the Wimbly qualifier wildcard. That's the gap to Whitehouse say.

Liam's number is also very much due to wildcards at Wimbledon.

Even so I'm surprised Jack's is that high, though.

With Liam got to remember he was well inside the top 200 earlier in the year and playing Masters Qualies. Didnt he get to round two of one? That and playing all the grand slam Qualifying will have given him a good chunk. Wimbledon WC, as previously stated, also a fair bit of it.

Quick question. How does Jack pick up 35 points for the win? I thought it was 27 for a 25k win?

 The plus H makes it a higher brand of tournament, essentially hospitality room and board I believe. From watching the footage it looks like a decent tournament.

Agree with Julia, I've only seen 3 interviews with Jack but thought he came across in each of them as level-headed, mature and realistic with regards to his tennis and also polite and respectful towards the interviewer.

He was very polite to John McEnroe when he was 14, showed absolute focus (even at 14) a self confidence consistent with his aspiration, McEnroes comment was we need more like Jack. I just wish him well.

 Definitely  - as said above, they have come from a decent background of a main ATP Tour event and I think want to move back to Challenger Status
