Couldn't find a thread for Jonny so I thought I would start one.
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Jonny this evening in La Manga. He was drafted in to take part in their regular Friday night exhibition match and turned up expecting to play some friendly light hearted doubles with some of the coaches. No such chance. As it turned out, he was matched up to play singles against one of Spain's top juniors - Jaime Caldes JR 108 - which came as a bit of a surprise to him. Singles on clay is not something he had done for a while and let's just say his hamstrings had a good work out.
Jonny won, which was completely unimportant but it was fun to watch.
What happened next was even more fun. Jonny and Jaime spent the next hour inviting some of the young kids there to play doubles. These were 8-10 year olds who had been at the academy this week. I have to say that Jonny's demeanor with these kids was fantastic. His naturally ebullient personality really made the occasion special for all those youngsters who took part and they all left the court with huge smiles on their faces. Jonny was a complete natural in that environment and I have no doubt that the kids will remember and be inspired by the experience for many years to come. It was a delight to watch.
So well done Jonny on a great effort this evening and "Hi" to David, Jane and Ben if you are reading this. It was a pleasure to meet you all.
The pleasure was all ours Bob. Great to finally meet up! And thanks for the kind words re Jonny, yes I'm biased, but he really is great with the kids isn't he. Hope to catch you again sometime soon and a big thanks to you and the regulars on here for all your support for Jonny and indeed all of the British players, cheers,
Played some sort of tournament at the weekend in Hong Kong with Joe Salisbury. Clearwater Bay country club according to his tweet. They won 6 games in 2 days to take the win and a nice $200k!

200k Hong Kong dollars btw, sadly, around 15k pounds? Still ok but not life changing!
