Week 41 - ITF ($15K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Q1: PITAK, Aleksandra (GBR) UNR v Bye

Q1: HILL, Sasha (GBR) UNR v SQUARCIALUPI, Gaia (ITA) UNR

It is likely that Katarzyna got promoted to the main draw, Emilie Lindh was also on the acceptances for the Q tournament but doesn't appear so she must have been a late withdrawal unless she got a WC.

I was thinking earlier in the week whether Emilie might get a WC here. I guess we'll have to wait until Monday to find out.

It's such a weak draw that on current rankings Emilie could actually scrape into the seedings as #8. So a wild card wouldn't be out of place.

Damn, I've just seen this. They should both beat most other players in the Q draw (except for the top seed), so this is extremely unfortunate cry

Well, unfortunately all the predictions were way too optimistic anyway as Sasha lost her first round Q match (albeit very closely)

Q1: HILL, Sasha (GBR) UNR lost to SQUARCIALUPI, Gaia (ITA) UNR 7-6(2) 7-5

Hmmm yes, I am surprised... but the good point is that I am now happy for Ola to beat her opponent comfortably! I hope she can maintain her form from this last week.

Well, I hope if Sasha is going to stay on she has a better week next week, once more used to the place... and maybe some doubles this week to gain that familiarity?

What always interests me much more, particularly at younger ages, is how good is their good. That says most about their potential and work can be done to introduce more consistency and more often play near their best but you need to have the game in the first place. And Sasha's good in Dublin, even as a one off ITF week so far, looked pretty good.

Ola has made short work of Squarcialupi thankfully, and is into the MD 6-2 6-1

The MD is out for the doubles now, but not yet the singles.

Emilie Lindh is playing again with Ashmitha E......... There were questions about whether she was playing here this week, so this means she should have a WC into the MD singles too.
Sasha Hill is then playing with Sophie Muntean, and this week the Pitak sisters have made it to being 4th seeds. However, their ranking has not yet improved - their points for winning last week will go on next week and take them both up to about 827, an increase of 178 places each, and therefore should result in further improvement in their ranking too.

yeah i thinkof this as the math functions seeling and floor
what is the realistic max upside and if playing b ad what results can they still be expected to get what level can they operate at in theyre worst like tara even playing in porr form and strugle with the df is still to good for 15k her floor is 15k+ her seeling is potenshul top 100 or was once upon a time
dublin 15k was quite soft so the hill seeling for me so far is aprox 900 need more data for the floor and the bowndarees
i certainly hoped shed manage to repeet the dublin form hear but not yet tho only her 2nd try so well see next time whetehr its good or bad and build a beter picture each time she play

OOP is out for tomorrow, but not yet the MD. Emilie is playing, but extremely unfortunately is not seeded this week since she's drawn the top seed in round 1 cry

Kasia Pitak has a much more accommodating draw and has an opportunity to pick up her 3rd counter.

Ola's draw is out not too, and is arguably even tougher than Emilie's. cry  Realistically there is only chance of one win here, anything more requires a massive performance from someone.

R32: Emilie LINDH (GBR) [WC] 1054 vs Jacqueline CABAJ AWAD (SWE) [1] 593 (CH:458 Sept 17)

R32: Katarzyna PITAK (GBR) UNR vs Iuliia SOKOLOVSKAIA (RUS) UNR (CH:1149 Feb 18)

R32: Aleksandra PITAK (GBR) [Q] UNR vs Barbara BONIC (SUI) [3] 638 (CH:342 March 14)
