Really want Beth and Alicia to nip of to sharm or turkey and grab a couple of 15k titles each...

Sam and Emma had an extremely comfortable QF win, going well so far. Their next opponents took out the top seeds in the first round.

SF: Emma LAINE/ Samantha MURRAY (FIN/GBR) [3] 606 (332+274) vs Fatma Al Nabhani/ Francisca Jorge (OMA/POR) 1294 (640+654)

Beth is currently world ranked 198 in doubles with a lowest counting score of 18. There would be, literally, zero point in her going back to 15K's.

I'd like to see her progressing in singles though. Isn't Olivia injured at the minute anyway? She's too young to just specialise without giving singles a good go.

Beth is giving singles a good go jb. Next week she will be WR 440, having risen 160 places this year. Her rankings are nearly all at 25k level now, which is what she needs next year to make the WTA tour, 15ks are only good for the transition tour. She also has reached 25k QFs 5x in the last year. What she has not done yet is pushed on from there to make a SF. However her doubles progress alongside the singles suggests she is definitely at the right level at the moment.

Oh I know, I didn't mean it like that, would just like her to win a few singles titles to go with her doubles :)
