Week 31 - ITF ($15K) - Dublin, Ireland Carpet

Sasha takes the tie break 7-4 and we'll have a winner now. Sasha wins 6-3 7-6(4)

Really hope Emily take the title, but it'll be some story if she doesn't...

6-3 not 6-6

Yes, Emily should, and I would expect her to, but if Sasha does an Emma R and gains her ranking in one fell swoop, what an absolutely incredible story that would be!

Never mind the egg all over the faces of the AELTC committee who did not give her a junior girls WC, that in itself would make it worth it...

True and reading that I may have split loyalties...

Just feel a bit sorry for Emily and with her scheduling (T&T etc) you can tell she is desperate for that first title after a few near misses last year, possibly pressure from Sky scholarship as well. She's been very unlucky with a couple of recent American draws and her 2018 form in general may well have made her question her college decision.

I'll certainly be following the live scores tomorrow.

Yes, I agree Ace, I would not begrudge Emily the title at all! Lovely that it will be a Brit though, whichever way it goes.

It's the greatest British womens ITF debut I can remember.
What a story - I'm sure the papers will all have coverage... ²
Fantastic from Ms. Hill, just, wow!

Good for Emily, too. She must be tired, playing every week, singles and doubles, but she's picked up again this week.

The first womens all GB final of the year then.
Last year we had 5, though only one by this point of the year.

Either way, guaranteed a big old on Sunday. Well done again all round

Very happy for Sasha. What a great week.

Emily reaching the final will give her an SE for Chiswick, and may have freed up a WC should the LTA have been minded to award her one. Maybe they should award it to Sasha!

Super by Sasha

Just 3 more wins for a top 1000 ranking and, as things currently stand, GB #25

Make that one more win   biggrin

Yes, some really gutsy performances from her this week. As ABB says by far the best pro debut of any GB player for a long time. You and everyone associated with her can indeed be incredibly proud of her, huge congratulations!
