£486k - and that's 19k per pair for just turning up and taking part. A fair number of the participants are there working anyway. But we can rant all we like, nobody at the LTA is going to take any notice are they !

I've often wondered whether they have anyone at the LTA who has as part of their job the duty to scan the Internet for such as forum and social media feedback in addition to looking at mainstream media. They could then take note of clear trends regarding concerns and feed back to whoever. Maybe to be ignored but it wouldn't in theory seem the worst use of someone's time - keeping in touch with fans of the game and their thoughts.

But I guess it's more than possible that they prefer just to live within their own bubble ...

Someone with the knowhow could set up a petition for people to sign and then deliver it to the LTA. Social media do petitions all the time, some of them have very successful outcomes.

Emily has reached another doubles final, where I'm not sure the points count any longer for her at this level. She probably views this as a kind of torture, all these doubles wins set ever more tantalisingly against every singles loss.

SF: Emily Arbuthnott/ Romy Koelzer (GBR/GER) 926 (551+375) beat Marina Bassols Ribera/ Gulomar Maristany Zuleta de Reales (ESP/ESP) 1380 (705+675) 6-4 6-3

Edit: Acknowledgement this is the wrong Emily. Correct result and score below.

Title points would still count for Emily but not 'just' another final. She has enough 7s already.

If she & Romy win the title she will move up to 126 points ( 9 x 12 from 15K titles and 2 x 9 from 25K QFs ).

I wonder if anyone has ever got to 132 points from 11 15K ( or previously 10K ) titles.

All these Emily As reaching doubles finals is confusing folks... Emily Arbuthnott (who is playing here) has three 1 point doubles counters and does not have a full quota of counters, so everything counts. Emily Appleton (who has reached a doubles final elsewhere) on the other hand...

Well, I'm the one causing the confusing, that is indeed Emily App's result I've posted here confuseconfusewinkwink

So to present the correct score now, this Emily A and Romy unfortunately lost their SF...

SF: Emily Arbuthnott/ Romy Koelzer (GBR/GER) 926 (551+375) lost to Marina Bassols Ribera/ Gulomar Maristany Zuleta de Reales (ESP/ESP) 1380 (705+675) 1-6 4-6

I'm going to blame it all on Anderson and Isner. It scrambles your head and exhausts you just trying to keep track of that match for 6.5 hours, never mind actually play it. Equivalent to a double marathon that... no thank you... but well done to the both of them.

Thanks Michael

Not the doubles result Emily Arbuthnott would have liked but at least with this being a 25K it's 18 points, which would be useful for Emily Appleton too if she was not elsewhere in a 15K final ...

Still, that's a 25K title and two 25K SFs in doubles in the last month for Emily Arbuthnott.
