Wimbledon Qualifying, Roehampton

T. Zidansek (1) vs F. CHRSTIE

N. Gibbs (5) vs F. JONES

A. Raina vs M. LUMSDEN

S. MURRAY vs V. DIATCHENKO (21)

on the face of it some pretty tough draws. In potentially better news, I still have 1 ticket available for tomorrow if anybody is keen

Although not as promising as the men's draws, particularly with 4 seeds, it is not as unpromising as it may first seem. Zidansek has only played one pro grass match (here last year) and lost easily. Stefkova is ranked 727, being on a long comeback presumably from injury, Raina has been playing the UK grass tournaments but has lost all of them this year while Bara, like Zidansek, has only played once on grass at Wimbledon last year and is still seeking her first set. Diatchenko's record on grass is mediocre, and she retired from her match last week.

Thanks David. Some encouragement there.

Couple of potential Q2 matches, should these four make it through
Maia v Sam
Tara v Conny

Overall, pretty tough draws, but I'll follow Indi and take encouragement from David's assessment.

21 minute bagel for Holly, not sure how this helps her development.

Holly not ready for this level at all.

Fran started well but it's getting away from her.

Freya has been giving the top q seed a good go. Was sorry to see her draw, as thought she might have had as good a chance as any of our GB women in the first q round with a slightly more favourable draw.

She loses 3-6 3-6

Holly also loses 0-6 1-6
