Lloyd has had a good day all round. Ed and Lloyd were 3-5 down in the 2nd set last time I looked.

Putting Aidan and Willbomb together was a mighty misjudgment.

Marcus looks a bit injured (knee?), his movement was hindered.

But he was trying to be cheeky chappy, upbeat, banter, etc. etc. etc.

And Aidan wanted none of it - ignored it - turned away - had a face like thunder sometimes.

Marcus then looked a little downcast, and gave up.

If Aidan thinks he's a clown, why - o why - would you put them together????

Complete waste.

Marcus and injured...not surprised.
Would Aidan have a say in his partner? not sure how doubles partnerships work to be honest.

CD - are you going tomorrow to watch the women? Your reports are great.

Pity. Yes, these knees have a fair bit of weight to carry around.

Yes, great reports CD, thanks.

I doubt they have any say who they are paired with as wild cards, hence not being happy with a partner that isn't fit enough to get through a 3 setter

No, I'm sure they don't have a say. It's not Aidan's to chose.

But the LTA recommend to the AELTC and why would they recommend two people who are incompatible?

Again not what I saw or heard, Aidan strikes me as a reserved guy, they appeared to have a decent rapport and their opponents were on it and served really well. Aidan wasnt really strong enough to carry his half of the partnership like Jay did last year, particularly in the second set. It would have been interesting seeing him paired with George.

It would have been more interesting seeing Jack F-H playing with Luke Johnson, or another college doubles partnership.

I agree Aidan is reserved, which is fine but that was the problem, he didn't gel with Marcus' more extrovert approach. I'm not saying he disliked the man, or was rude. But he often turned away from Marcus, refused to answer the banter; maybe he felt his level wasn't good enough and so felt under stress, quite possibly, which just brings us back in a circle to the wildcard attribution in the first place.

I am really surprised Aidan playing doubles with Marcus anyone know why they were paired together

I believe Marcus was due to play with Brydan Klein - but he injured himself on Friday playing against Luke Bambridge in the singles pre-qualies.
