Jamie and Bruno to make.it 2 from 2.

Judy is in the Crowd, I almost bumped into the back of her, with a woman who is maybe Jamie's wife.

Judy is really nice you should have spoken to her.

She was speaking to whoever she was with...and then she was moving towards spare seats closer to the court. I also saw Dimitrov earlier on in the day but too shy to ask for a picture.

I notice a LL spot has opened up, I assume Ken S. and partner will get in if they signed in and are still there of coarse?

I am guessing that Neal and Ken have split up because their ranking wouldn't have got them in as a pair. Once again, I think it disgusting that they weren't given a WC as a pairing. They were Wimbledon quarter finalists last year and have an excellent grass court pedigree, yet we are giving WCs to overseas players. I understand that they are big name players and a crowd draw, but it is disrespectful to doubles players to give the WCs to others who have no real interest in doubles and are likely to pull out at the first sign of a twinge to protect their singles participation.

I would much rather see Neal playing with Ken than playing with Kyle.

I rest my case.  One pair has gone.  Not 100% sure who it was but the sheet says Berdych withdrew.  Was he playing with Raonic, who has also withdrawn from singles ?

Hoping Ken can pick up that LL spot with his partner.

Edit

To answer my own question, Berdych was down to partner Verdasco.

Unfortunately, Milos Raonic has been forced to withdraw from the singles tournament due to a right shoulder injury.

Tomas Berdych is also out of the doubles tournament because of a back injury.

Think Ken has missed out, hearing that Daniell/Koolhof in doubles today.

That would make sense:  they were the q1s.  The sickening thing is that Ken & Marius, who were only qWCs, beat them in QR1 !  furious

Something wrong here.  In doubles qualifying I've never known a situation where Round 1 losers get in above the Round 2 losers regardless of seeding.  I can only guess that Ken or M did not sign in?  Anyway good luck to Jamie and Bruno.

Yes, they can't have signed in for a LL spot ( unusual for doubles players to have such a concern ) so we have very lucky losers.

And they promptly beat the (wasted) WCs, Djoko & Stan the Man, by 6-4 7-6(2).  disbelief

QF:  (4) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 27 (13+14) vs (LL) Marcus Daniell & Wesley Koolhof (NZL/NED) CR 86 (40+46)

QF:  Kyle Edmund & Neal Skupski CR 311 (261+50) vs (WC) Lleyton Hewitt & Nick Kyrgios (AUS/AUS) CR303 (167+146)

The Aussies took out the third seeds, PHH & Mahut, in three.  I wouldn't be surprised to see them get the better of Kyle & Neal.

Copil is down for Eastbourne qualies at the weekend so obviously wanted to ensure he could play those, but the question remains why did Ken play with him in the first place?
