Kyle took a weird fall/slip on break point which was a shame.

I'd have thought she'd have access to the LTA site and various tweets if she made an effort!

Edit Sorry, this was in reply to the post about Sue and pre-quali results. Oops!

As I kind of expected, but fervently hoped wouldn't be the case:

L16:  Nick Kyrgios (AUS) WR 21 defeated (7) Kyle Edmund WR 17 by 7-6(3) 6-7(5) 6-3  cry

The match improved once it became less of a serve-fest really. Fine margins.

Didn't see the 3rd set at all, but in the first two sets, I thought Kyle did everything that was asked of him and handled the whole situation/atmosphere extremely well. Definitely think he has a chance of improving his grass court record over the next two events - Eastbourne and Wimbledon.

In the third set he just had a service game that you just cant have against the top guys. Three unforced areas just lost it for him. It was a shame as hed fought so hard to get back into the match, as you say. But I guess its part of the learning curve learning how to keep the level throughout the match and particularly on your own service.

Lovely story about Matt Edben who supposedly had the right to play at Queens under a SE because there were two SEs going, one at Queens and one at Halle, and Edben and Chardy were the two men concerned and Matt had the choice and because he was better ranked. And would definitely have preferred Queens. But Jim Chardy is a good friend of his and, being a Londonian now, Matt knew he'd like to play 'at home' so he left Queens for Chardy and took Halle himself.
What a good egg
Glad he did well at Halle.....
