I see that after all the hype and rumours that Dan isn't playing doubles after all and Kyrgios is playing with Jackson Withrow. Probably wouldn't have got in the draw on ranking, and the wild cards were taken by Hewitt+, Jay/Marcus and Liam

Jay is better than Marcus now (to clarify, needs a better partner). I know they got fairly far at Wimbledon last year but Marcus has done nothing since and Jay has.

Yeah, but it's a 'local' dubs tourney, and if they get on well, they might just be having abit of fun. Marcus has got a good serve if I remember rightly.

Just to say, at the weekend, a couple of the coaches (one Aussie guy, I think) were saying what good shape Luke B is in, how he's lost weight, looking leaner, strong.....

I'd been thinking the same (in an uninformed way) - he was moving a lot better in his singles match than the previous couple of times I'd seen him. Now that might be because he's playing freely and relaxed in singles because it's not his main focus, or because he's really upped his training and seriousness to make top-100 doubles and it pays off.

But, compared to many of the others, Luke really cuts a figure on the courts - tall, broad, packs some weight, but all muscle. All credit to him - he's put himself in a good position. (And, personally, I hope it spills over into the singles too and he gets a few breaks and has a run or two)

At the moment apparently Luke is already in with others' points coming off ( live ranked 98 ) though others can overtake him and take him out again.

Luke's updated points after his R1 win ( 788 ) are right anyway. Also Jonny's 737. Taking others on trust.

Actually, looking at the 5 who can get past Luke's total the only combined way Luke can fall out of the top 100 ( on these figures ) is for Shamasdin ( + Joe ) to beat Balaji + in the Surbiton final and for Bury + to win the Prostejov final and for Luke ( + Jonny ) to not win another match.

Jonny can overtake Luke's current score ( and make the top 100 himself ) but clearly not overtake Luke. Bolt can overtake by winning the Surbiton title but that would derail both Shamasdin and Balaji.

Anyway simplest, one more win for Luke and it appears done and you can forget the rest, just look out for Jonny then

Bury+ have lost in R1 in Prostejov which looks as if it has sealed the deal on Luke being WR 100 at worst.

Next question is can Jonny join Luke in the top 100 this week.

Regarding the discussion with the umpire during the Clarke/Willis game. I think the ballgirl out of shot(of the camera)was still running and Jay assumed a let would be called by the umpire.
