how long are the BBC going to keep putting "returning from a one year ban for taking cocaine" in big bold letters in every match report about Dan ? Even Google accepts that there is a right to be forgotten - eventually. Do they enjoy rubbing it in ?

I would more take this as the Beeb talking to an audience who don't follow tennis too much - so most won't know why Dan was out, rather than them rubbing it in his face.

But he is.

If it were a back injury I think it would be reported "just back after 12 months with back surgery" or rehabilitating well after recent surgery etc......

Ok, seems I'm a bit over sensitive on this one. Actually looking at the article again it looks pretty much like the journalist has just cut and pasted the previous reports and only changed the names/variables.

Helen, thank you for the detail on why Dan and Marcel were sharing a joke at one stage of their match. I missed your reply during my frantic typing :)

Close contest so far. A break a piece and nothing really to choose between the two. Have to abandon watching now (fathers day) so come on Dan!!

Some amazing defensive play from Dan down *5-6, 0-30. Retrieved two smashes, pulled off two outstanding defensive lobs then played a sumptuous drop shot. Wins the next three points in succession to take it to a tie-break.

Me too, but I did manage to download Evan's SF overnight and watch the first hour this morning.

DM takes it 7-4. The youngster doesn't miss a lot of shots at all.

Not many short points in this match, so don't expect the scoreboard to change quickly !
Dan loses a close toe-break by 7-4

I said it was going to be entertaining. Set could have gone either way.

That was an unbelievable pass on the run from De Minaur to break in the opening game of set 2.

Yes this is a really close, high quality match. Dan seemed to momentarily lose concentration on his service game after the break, played a couple of wild shots, and I think that cost him the set. He'll need to stay very focussed to have a chance of winning this. Cmon Dan!!!!

This match is rapidly turning into a classic.

Evo back with his nose in front in the 2nd at 4-3*
