It's crazy that the WTA prohibits players ranked 11-50 from taking part in WTA 125 events (except as wildcards), but the ITF has no restrictions at all.
Bencic with a LWD so Gabi is now just 4 off the main draw. Hopefully 4 more withdraw due to RG (not really sure who would be main candidates) and then she can sneak in and allow the 4 WCs to be taken up be Dart, Dunne, Swan (if fit) and Robson.
Just as a thought, if one of the mods wants to move this to the ladies WTA section, that would be great.
And can we add the week number here as well please?... It's week 23. It's helpful to see which week is being talked about, even if another thread is started later for the event itself if required (since this states entry list).

Ive changed it to make it the actual event itself, is that ok?

Great Jon, makes most sense to keep using the same thread!
The Nottingham thread is a bit misleading though with Watson needing WC's etc. in the opening post. Wouldn't harm copying the posts from this year and starting a new 2018 thread.

mmm. Tricky this stuff. Particularly on my phone, so I'm not sure how to do that , maybe a mod with a few mins to spare could sort it out?!

There is no "split thread" facility. Can only split by indeed literally copying posts into a new thread and deleting from the original.
Alternatively could just start a new 2018 Nottingham tournament thread and put the other one back to something else.
I'd be tempted to just leave be now.

With Gabi almost certainly in the MD by ranking and Laura pulling out that frees up a MD WC. Assuming all the WCs are given to home players, the obvious choice is Tara. Maia is playing elsewhere although as I understand the rules would be allowed to accept a WC here being a higher level tournament, Sam has not played a pro match this year and Eden and Freya have shown no form of late. If there are no SEs then there only needs to be 4 withdrawals for Harriet to make the MD which would free up another MDWC. That would be a bit more difficult to see who it would go to, but I'd like see it given to Sarah Beth or EWS.
Nine of the first 12 alts are Brits, so there is a pretty good chance that most of them will get in either by WC or qualifying. Harriet, Katy and Katie are high on the qualifying list so may get the MD WCs - and the other one........hard to guess, but I think you may well be right in your assessment, although there are a few younger players wel down the list that might be in the running for a QWC - Nell Miller and Anna Popescu come to mind - they both could do with the point that comes from a Q1 win to get them a ranking.
