The issue some will have is that if they have dedicated years to tennis and say only taken two a levels Notts probably would not accept them into a course. Al we had drummer into us in his last years at academy was utr america etc. Nothing really promoting staying here

 There is information around the US vs UK pathways eg Tennis Smart (I am sure others do too) provides an overview of both pathways taking into account tennis, academics, budget etc. The US is not for everyone, I know several players who chose Bath or Luffs rather than the US. 

Luffs does offer a foundation year for athletes with lower A level grades, but the others require all As or AAB for many courses. American unis offer a wide range of entry criteria and perhaps cater for students with a wider range of academic abilities. Agree those who don't have the top grades are limited as to choice of UK uni (Leeds Met??).

When comparing career prospects, fortunately it's not just about which uni you went to - connections/degree subject/attitude  etc can all have an impact.  I am sure Harvard or Ivy League would 'open doors' in the UK??
