Well next week Anna is out again with her third different partner in a row.... With her latest partner, the highest ranked person she has yet played with, they are top seeds too, and could not have an easier opening match in a WTA event. Rankings are estimated next week.
L32: Barbora KREJCIKOVA/ Anna SMITH (CZE/GBR) [1] 74 (27+47) vs Basak ERAYDIN/ Ipek SOYLU (TUR/TUR) [WC] 769 (633+136)
Again, much depends on how this latest partnership gels. Clearly seeded #1 purely on their combined WRs.
It would be good to understand what Anna's current partnership strategy actually is... Is she literally just arranging match ups tournament by tournament, is she just trying to find the highest ranked player in each tournament who will play with her, or does she have something else in mind? It's surprising to see that after reaching the final today that she and Xenia are not giving it another go this coming week, considering both are playing. Luke Bambridge mentioned that arranging match ups just before the sign in time can be very cut throat, but Anna if she is to prosper does need someone she can play with more regularly, and who complements her... We continue to wait and see I guess.
Well Anna has had a successful start this week too, though she should not have faced too many problems at this stage. Next up potential QF opponents are on court now.
L32: Barbora KREJCIKOVA/ Anna SMITH (CZE/GBR) [1] 74 (27+47) beat Basak ERAYDIN/ Ipek SOYLU (TUR/TUR) [WC] 769 (633+136) 6-2 6-3
Another win Backing up last weeks good performance would be particularly encouraging, on clay, after the sluggish (well, just plain bad, really) start to Anna's year

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Yes, she won a 250k at Nurnburg last May, so she could really do with a replacement win this week... She does have a good stock of 50-60 pointers too, so she will only gain points this week by reaching the SF, which will then leave her +50. Well, we will see how her latest partnership does.
An interesting match up next up for Anna +. The doubles rankings of their opponents are no shakes, but their singles rankings aren't too bad and they beat doubles opponents both ranked within the top 90s quite comfortably today.
QF: Barbora KREJCIKOVA/ Anna SMITH (CZE/GBR) [1] 74 (27+47) vs Lizette CABRERA/ Jana FETT (AUS/CRO) 832 (240+592)
