GB Player of the Month

Feels like a slow end of season month but today we have Salisbury, Glasspool, Choinski (×2), Gill, Appleton and Carreras all in action.

Hey, it's only Tuesday. Katie Boulter plus Barnett/Nicholls and Popescu in doubles all play today

Conway and Brogan probably tomorrow

And only SC can keep track of the men's ITF entries........

True, I wasnt trying to be all encompassing, just saying it felt a little slow to me, as a general thing. Not bad, just slow!

Debating whether it's too soon but sod it it's slim pickings so I nominate Jasmine Conway for POM based on her progression this month, every tournament she has managed a round further than the previous week.

Looking at the calendar ahead, we start to get to thin pickings and pretty much one or two events after the WTA event in Dubai which is w.c. 7th December.

I could hold on and see what transpires w.c. 14th but I suspect we will have hardly any players and nothing that is going to impact our PoM thinking.

So, as such, I am going to propose that this months (Nov/Dec) PoM nominations are drawn to a close on Sunday 13th Dec (after Dubai) and we do the PoM vote 14/15 Dec and then we do the player of the season vote at the end of that week and prior to Xmas...

Let me know if you think I am jumping the gun...or does this make sense?

Number of doubles players still pursuing titles this week at ITF level plus Hep Oluwadare in junior singles final. Remember anyone can nominate players for PoM at any time.

To quote CD in Hephzibah Oluwadare's individual thread :

"In her second ever ITF event, Hep (just turned 13) made it all the way through qualis and into the final of the singles in Israel, J5.

But ended up losing in the three sets to the top seed.

Great week. The titles will come "

I nominate Hephzibah.

A few mens wins today, Felix Gill (remarkable win over trungelliti) as well as Ryan P and Henry P. Hopefully this will be a better week than some other recent ones?

I am interested to see if anyone decides Felix result deserves a shout out here?!

It may just be one win but I feel Felix Gills win today over Trungelliti stands out as a career high and possibly step change, so I'm going to get him on the list in what is probably a weaker than normal list.

November and December nominations list is now:

Liam Broady

Charles Broom

Lloyd Glasspool

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski

Jasmine Conway

Joe Salisbury

Hephzibah Oluwadare

Felix Gill

8 nominations so far

Henry Patten doing well, and Ryan P and Alexis Canter still around and kicking, as well as Felix. Be interesting to see if anyone else breaks into our list above, Henry P making waves!

Sadly, women are done for the week.
