FC Edinburgh play at meadowbank, which is between princess street and Hibs ground.. They actually groundshared with Spartans last year.

Ok, is that the old Meadowbank Thistle ? I definitely knew of them- Ive driven past the stadium not knowing it was their ground - it was an old athletics stadium wasnt it?

The Spartans play at Aunslie Park, beside Ainslie Park Leisure Centre close to Ferry Road, the main west to east road in North Edinburgh, within a couple of miles of Stockbridge.

They are probably 3 to 4 miles away from Hibs at Easter Road in the east. Hearts at Tyne castle in the west are probably not much further from Spartans

That's 4 Edinburgh league teams now. FC Edinburgh ( formerly Edinbirgh City ) got promoted into the league in 2016 and are now in the 3rd tier. They actually groundshared with Spartans at Ainslie Park for a while but are now back at Meadowbank Stadium ( the former Commonwealth Games Stadium ( capacity now much reduced ). FC Edinburgh are much closer to Hins.

Got it - well, I like Stockbridge and Leith areas so Ill take Spartans and Hibs as my two teams (driven along Easter Road quite often as well).

Talking of Leith - my daughter lives in Marchmont along Grange Road. Cant recall the pubs name by where they live but Charlie or is it Craig from the Proclaimers hangs out there quite often and theyve seen him there a few times - not that he sings or plays his guitar !

My brother used to be the physio at Hibs so I used to get free tickets whilst he was there , so guess they're my second team after the mighty Arbroath..

Realise Marchmont is nowhere near Leith but I always associate proclaimers for obvious reasons - Sunshine in Leith is my favourite musical film and play of all time

I watched Hibs quite a bit when I first moved to Edinburgh initially at university, now over 40 years ago.

But for better or worse I long ago discovered that I don't remotely care for any other team as much as I care about St Mirren. So they are and always will be my team!

It will be our best league finish for over 30 years and after beating Celtic earlier on this season we drew at Celtic Park today. Top 6 finish. Flirted with getting into Europe but that looks unlikely now.

Still, a great season - is it Love Street the ground? I used to think that was a great name for a stadium. Not sure of the Mirren strip now, but was it black and white hoops or stripes at one time?

Yeah, I went to Uni in Newcastle (well, the old Poly, now Northumbria Uni) and went to watch Newcastle United quite often, used to stand on the Gallowgate, if they scored, youd end up around 50 yards from where you were initially standing , and lucky to still be standing!

It was when Keegan, McDermott and then Waddle and Gazza played there in the 2nd division and then 1st, mid to late 80's. Great atmosphere but they were never my team and although I enjoyed it at the time, I was never able to become a "fan".

I had always been brought up a Liverpool fan by my dad, but then we moved near Leeds when I was 7 and I shared my allegiance until Liverpool somehow dropped off my fan radar. Leeds have probably been my main team since, but I am no way an fanatic, and Bob (in Spain) beats my hands down - for some reason, I was a bigger fan when Leeds spent all that time in the lower leagues, since they got back to the Premier I have fallen off quite a lot, for some reason. Around 6 years back, as Harrogate started doing well in the Conference and National North before that, we started to go and watch Town and I guess I realised last year or two that they had very much become the team I genuinely support. If I had 100% to give to clubs, Town would get 75%, Leeds probably still get 20% of me and the other 5% might just go on Spartans going forwards!! Oh, and another 100% probably goes to England, I am afraid, in football.

My grandad did his apprenticeship as a boiler maker age 14 right next to Villa Park in 1918, he took my dad, who then took me (when we were really bad 1972) & now I take my kids & nephew, none of us live within 100 miles of the ground. Alternate weeks my grandad took me to Worcester City different but fantastic arguably better atmosphere first game 1971ish packed St Georges Lane playing Hereford in the Southern League.

As a consequence of living in exile for close to 40 Yrs I do get some joy from watching Millwall & Charlton while not in the same league as Villa get non watching any of the big London sides (no aspiration to go to Spurs new stadium etc..) BUT copious quantities of joy watching CVPM although drifted away from Hamlet because of the large numbers of people going for a beer & a chat rather than to watch the football.

Tried to be magnanimous to a mate who is a proper city fan & was in Istanbul found it hard, really resents the sovereign wealth & 135 FFP charges
