Very well organised tonight. First spectators in elite football in the NW and also in National League.
Unfortunately the performance by our team was pretty woeful.
More fool them (they have one of the largest stadia in non league) or more likely non compliant fans. Non League is great because it is inclusive but unfortunately there are a proportion of fans who dont have the capacity/will/restraint to comply. I have seen a single packed stand with the rest of the ground empty. No sympathy only for the volunteers
450 if spaced evenly will allow 10m between fans it is such a large ground. I cant say I have much appetite for live non league football at the moment. The distribution by the National League of government funds to compensate lost league income was essentially flawed and heavily biased against teams with a sustainable funding model based on fans attending matches as opposed to benefactors.
The independent committee is due to report on Monday.
When I saw independent, there are a lot of friends of the current board.
The chair being the chair of the league sponsors and another who was an ex committee member under the current regime
Silence from the independent panel with a new wave of payments due.
Those who have managed to play in front of crowds will surely get less than last time.
Meanwhile, Southport has 2 wins in the Trophy in a week.
Many teams in the Northern Prem saying they should be still suspended as crowds without bars and food sales are loss making.
The independent panel published their recommendations to the league, who have not distributed it to the clubs. The independent panel have written to the NL board and told then to forget any further discussions as they are wasting time and money. Effectively saying the NL board are inept.
Southport are better off under the original deal, but our secretary doesn't speak highly of the board or their lack of communication on numerous matters.

Really disappointing. It also reinforces bad practices ie driving teams who derive their income through gate receipts to get crowds back too soon. Precisely what it was designed not to do surely. The leadership at NL level has been so poor with a level of self interest echoing that in the PL.
Hamlet played Saturdays FA trophy game behind closed doors to be honest disappointed they had a crowd for Tuesday as personally I feel this whole cycle of a second lockdown was so predictable, the behaviour of 1000 fans is so hard to control regardless of the clubs intentions. You cannot rely on them evenly distributing themselves around the ground etc.. my bias sits squarely on preventing loss of life.
I understand it is a business & there is equipoise between the economic consequences of lockdown and health consequences, bought my season ticket and loadsa of merch but so frustrated that will be an armchair fan for the rest of the season despite regular exposure to COVID at work (PPEd up) since February & half way to being fully vaccinated.
Further changes to tiers mean more clubs playing behind closed doors - Kettering, Brackley and Chester
Leaves just Southport, York, Telford, Hereford and Kiddy left in the north.
Illness in the camp at Southport, so cancelled match at Fylde as precaution
Saturday - Monday with a small squad and several injuries was not helpful either.
