Can't fault the effort.
But...

As close as their rankings would have suggested but that was the sort of opponent she needs to be beating in a big event like this to reach the top 100 again.

Good hustle though, fought until the end.

Pera qualifies and gets the Konta slot. Fingers crossed for a different result to the Aus Open!

The ideal draw for Jo post-Fed Cup and a great way to kick-start her year.

I'm too pessimistic; I was thinking this was sorely unwanted scar tissue right now.

Doubles:
R32: Anna SMITH/Renata VORACOVA (GBR/CZE) 81 (47 + 34) v. Andreja KLEPAC/María José MARTÍNEZ SÁNCHEZ (SLO/ESP) [8] 52 (26 + 26)

Jo is 1st on court 1 tomorrow, which will probably start at midday UK time. The WTA page doesn't give a start time on court 1 but shows it starting after two matches on centre court starting at 9am.

Anna and Renata made a final of a WTA $125K the other year so hopefully can have another good run together here (though round 1 does look tough).
