QR1: (qWC) Luke Bambridge WR 569 vs (q6) Austin Krajicek (USA) WR 266
Edit: just amending the name of the venue to avoid confusion with Newport, Rhode Island, & adjusting the font size, as the original was hurting my eyes (though I still can't get it quite right)!

The main draw is out & the top seed (WC) is only bloody Nishkori (WR 24/CH = 4 in March 2012)! The second seed is the big girl's blouse, Tiafoe WR 81 (CH = 60 last July)
L32: (5) Cam Norrie WR 111 (CH = 110 last October) vs Michael Mmoh (USA) WR 162 (CH = 141 last September)
Indeed - the US challenger draws around Indian Wells and Miami are often strong. The one in Indian Wells just before ...Indian Wells will be strong, but Irving (which I think took over from Sunrise, Fl) is between the two and from memory has some sort of dispensation around entry standards and always attracts a "stacked" field.

A seriously strong draw, as JonH suggests!
2 recent wins by Cam over Mmoh in the Tiburon Challenger QF and Stockton Challenger SF in successive weeks at the end of September / beginning of October, both by 7-5 6-2. Their previous meeting was a 3 set futures SF won by Cam in 2015. 3 times met, all in the US and all 3 weeks ended in titles for Cam!
That is a fabulous win for Luke and all for no benefit in either points or cash, other than a shot getting through two more rounds and into the MD.
Yes, it really is time the ATP woke up and introduced some greater fairness and justice into its wholly antiquated points system. In a 150k + H tournament it is just totally ridiculous that there are no points at least for q wins, since that doesn't even cost anything.
