Yes, I'm also wondering when - and where - Gabi Taylor will start her new season now. She has been in Barcelona, so presumably has been doing some training there.

Mandy Carreras I think will be out longer following her wrist surgery.

Tom F, it will be interesting to see what he does as he is many people's top 10 predictions for this year. Oli Golding seemed to opt out at the end of last year, by not following up on the events he played in the UK.

Fran Jones presumably is also still completing her school education, though I don't know where she is with that.

According to her Twitter etc. Amanda was due for surgery in November cry so it might be a while.

It looks like Billy will be giving the GB Futures a miss and heading for Spain in the early part of the year. I think I had better get my washing machine primed and ready  wink

Glasgow - after withdrawals, Tara is Q16, Sam is first alt so should get in - Eden is 7th alt
So wild cards needed for the likes of Eden, Maia, Jodie, Freya and a few others still on the list :(

Maia will get a MD wildcard and i'd expect Ewan and Aidan to get some sort of wildcards.
Women's draw is loaded, but expect quite a few more drop outs.

I see that there are 25 on the Glasgow women's 25K qualifying list. I assume it will be a 32 strong qualifying field with 16 seeds and two rounds. Are they able to give 7 QWCs? Indeed is there any specific limit for the number of 25K qualifying WCs? I guess there must be some limit

Yes, can't see the two MD SE spaces being taken up which in itself would immediately shift two players from the qualifying list to the main draw list and let Sam onto the qualifying list. Eden might well make it too in time. But then they could actually be in line for MD WCs but guess time will tell who gets these and the qualifying ones. Yes imagine Maia will get one MD one for starters.

Including Sam and Eden the alts for the qualifying list include 14 of our ranked players, all who would no doubt quite like to play some tennis, before even getting to the many unranked.

Katie Swan ( down for US 60K ) and Harriet withdrew from Glasgow to initially just leave Tara on the qualifying list. The 18th MD acceptance is WR 251. The 25th qualifying acceptance WR 422.

Wonder if Nell Miller will ask for her MD wildcard here? Or is that only if you win two Premier events? And it's qualis otherwise?

Yes and yes from my memory of the prior discussion on this, since there are no 15ks for the women this year at the moment.

It is limited to 6 QWC for a 32 or 48 draw, 8 for a 64 draw (ITF rulebook)
Main draw is restricted to 4WC as you know. So they could be generous and get most of the ranked Brits in somewhere.
Most of the direct entrants have Glasgow down as their first preference, so now the withdrawal deadline has passed, there won't be many more places becoming free.

I might be reading it wrongly, but think Brydan Klein is in the main draw in Burnie?

Some quality players to watch for free in Glasgow next week for me in the womens side, very strong tournament indeed.
