Went *0-40, saved 2 SP, but nit the third. Taking the long way round then. 4-6

After the first 7 games of that set went to serve, the last 3 games were all breaks.

I hope Gabi is a fighter... but she needs to improve her serving stats too since at the moment they are distinctly second best. A high percentage first serves is keeping her in her games, but she is winning barely half of those, and her second serve win % is poor. At the moment across the match her opponents win %s for first and second serves are higher.

Well, that was some fighting that's for sure! Gabi saved at least 2 MPs there - I didn't dare to look too closely - before pulling through that TB, fantastic!

4-6 7-6(7)

Diana throws down her Championships points, in multiples.
Gabi stares down Championship points, doesn't flinch, claims second set.
4-6 7-6(7)

I'm beginning to get the feeling that one of Gabi's strengths is in demoralising opponents! Wish she wouldn't over do it though; she's saved another 5 BPs in her first two service games of the third set, including coming back from *0-40 in the third game...

Critical break won by Gabi, serving for the tournament now, can she do it?!

We more or less started teh year with a magnificent title from Johanna in Sydney.
Here we are, last game of the year, and Gabi is erving for another magnificent title to send us off in style...
