Week 50 - Thailand F12 - Hua Hin ($15,000) (hard)

No idea of the order of the draw, as the draw sheet is not yet available.

QR1:  Michael Cummings (AUS) UNR vs Pierre Luiggi UNR

QR1:  Jamie Praditngam UNR vs Punnakrit Kritakara (THA) WR 1858 (CH = 1343 in May 2014)

I presume Billy Harris, fourth in the qualies list, either has a bye in the first round or has snuck into the main draw.

I remember mistyping Jamie's name once and someone picking it up and steven, very kindly, telling me that he though it was about the hardest GB player's name to get right. The spelling of that name does my head in. For me, at least, he's become Jamie Prad ever since .....

Is he in doubles, if not, this can be the last word!. I've just looked up on the ITF site, and the h is omitted

Praditngam.

The ATP site tells the same story, so the aberrant "h" has been removed.

Knew it was a misspelling

That actually wasn't the bit that confused. I wonder how you say it.

For himself too! wink He's @JamiePrad on Twitter. I wasn't just being kind - I always used to have to think. Got used to it now he's been playing Futures qualies more frequently though. The problem (for me at least) was that I expected a new syllable to follow -dit- and the incorrect "gn" looks like it could be the start of a syllable (as in gnu, gnat) whereas the correct"ng" looks like it should be the end of one. Of course, it may be that -ditng- is all one syllable, I've still got no idea how to actually say it!

He could hardly have hoped for a better first round draw:

L32:  (Q) Billy Harris WR 651 vs (Q) Li Yuanfeng (CHN) WR 1214 (CH = 1122 in June)
