A 3+ hour match preceding them, has seen Emily have her court changed.
Seems she didn't enjoy waiting around, and has resolved to get this done quickly; 24 minutes in, 6-0

Emily kindly let the youg South African get into double figures of points for the match, just - she got 10 (48-10)
Mdlulwa has a ranking, and has won another point here, so a bit surpised and the comprehensivesness of the victory.
A chance to settle the score next, but certainly a tough outing.

A bit of needle in this match I imagine. Not only did Sofia beat Emily in the singles last week, but in the doubles final too - and that with Sofia playing with Emily's Mexican 'best friend', whom Emily had won a title with the week before, Emily having returned to partnering with the Columbian singles top seed. This week Sofia and Maria Jose are still playing together, probably why Emily is partnerless in doubles this week. So go the swings and roundabouts... but I'm sure Emily would love a singles win today more than usual, she has some pride at stake here now...
Continues to be a see-saw match. 1-0 to 1-2 to 3-2 to 3-4*
Sewing up two breaks to one - and they have both had runs of 8 consecutive points in this set
