Miedler has withdrawn so a new opponent for Jay.

L32: Jay Clarke WR 288 (CH 280 in September) vs (Q) Sidharth Rawat (IND) WR 527 (CH 496 in August)

Re Australian Open qualifying ( cut-off 18/12 ) I think you'ed be looking at probably about WR 250 as an absolute minimum.

For Brydan, a SF here would take him up to 207 points, currently equivalent to WR 246. The final would take him up to 232 points, currently equivalent to WR 223 which should be enough.

For Jay, the final here would take him up to 203 net 'banked' points after allowing for 36 points still to come off before the cut-off, currently equivalent to WR 250. Winning the title would take him up to 243 net 'banked' points, currently equivalent to WR 213 and surely enough.

This is the last challenger week. Any futures points in weeks 48 and 49 would also count as net additions, and Brydan is entered in the Indonesia 25K in week 48 and the Thailand 15K in week 49 ( I rather think that he may be on a mission ).

Jay looking pretty comfortable so far, winning the first set with two breaks and a first and second serve percentage win of over 80%. Keep it up Jay!

They gave the top seeds a run for their money, but ultimately couldn't quite pull it off:

L16:  (1) Mikhail Elgin & Divij Sharan (RUS/ND) CR 146 (95+51) defeated Geoffrey Blancaneaux & Jay Clarke CR 787 (541+246) by 5-7 6-4 [10-5]  hmm

And the Kazakhs got their revenge:

L16:  Timur Khabibulin & Aleksandr Nedovyesov (KAZ/KAZ) CR 474 (224+250) defeated (4) Scott Clayton & Jonny O'Mara CR 304 (145+159) by 6-4 4-6 [10-7]  bleh

Brydan is broken on the 5th BP that he had faced in the second set and now has to turn things round.

4-6 2-3*

With the help of a couple of successive DFs Brydan breaks back.

4-6 *4-4

Been tight games all through the second set.
