SC, Paul Jubb is not unranked.

Paul (who has just turned 18) is ATP 1740.

Still a very good victory against the WR 1516 player though.

Both Hamish and Paul are still juniors, born 1999, and both with some excellent tennis. Shame only one can win but good luck to both of them.

Argh such a shame they have to play each other but this futures is part of the schedule for both the South Carolina (SEC) and Tulane (AAC) college teams. Paul is a sophmore at South Carolina so from a regular at Pelican Park to the home of the Eastern Brown Pelican and Hamish a freshman at Tulane.

This really is a college tennis fest, Paul having beaten Stoica who is at Wichita State now takes on Soderland who is s team mate of Aswin Lizen at Virginia.

Well done, young Paul. What a super result. And in a clutch third-set tie-break too.

Since Paul's arrival at South Carolina he has improved them going 11-3 (7-2 in the SEC) across #2,#4,#5,#6. A bit like Emily Arb I think the coach was working out what he got. Substantially better stats than the rest of the team. This win great though it is isn't a massive surprise as a new order in college tennis establishes itself through the Autumn. How good would Kyle be if there was compulsory retirement at 28!

To be fair they have significantly stepped up after a number of fallow years. They had one bad loss all year to Rice that apart it was to the local powerhouses Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State the later they beat in conference lost in the NCAA.
