A 56 min romp for Emily, although she did lose 2 breaks of serve.

Emily is also the #2 doubles seed this week playing with Maria Fernanda HERAZO GONZALEZ (COL), and their L16 match is still to come today.

 Yeah, simply overpowered by the weight of all those syllables.... It does roll off the tongue really well though, has quite a rhythm to it smile

Comfortable win for Emily. Her doubles partner of the 12 syllables is the singles top seed, so they should indeed be able to do well there too - the QF for the doubles is later today.

In the next round Emily will play a Perez-Garcia, whatever the result. They are I see 21 yr old twins smilesmile

 No, you're right, Emily Appleton WAS going off to Uni in the states. (Like Jodie). They'd both got very good offers, and accepted them.

But they then both withdrew and went full-time pro instead.
