Phew! That was unbearably tense for a while!

Ms. Swan now takes a turn, and wraps up her first set too, 6-3 *0-1

Serene progress, 6-3 6-1

5 wins from five matches for the ladies so far today (2 of them were guaranteed). Tara, the last to play, could make it a perfect day later.

L16: (4) Katie BOULTER (GBR) 222 beat Francisca JORGE (POR) 881 (CH:858 Sept 17) 17 yrs 6-0 6-3
L16: (6) Katie SWAN (GBR) 345 beat Dalila SPITERI (ITA) 634 (CH:633 Oct 17) 6-3 6-1

QF: (4) Katie BOULTER (GBR) 222 vs Anastasia PIVOVAROVA (RUS) 532 (CH:93 May 11)
QF: (6) Katie SWAN (GBR) 345 vs (2) Dalma GALFI (HUN) 167 (CH:136 June 17; JCH:1 Sept 15)/ Olga DOROSHINA (RUS) 437 (CH:193 May 17)

The competition moves up a notch or too now. Katie B against a former top 100 player and Katie S likely against Dalma Galfi, #2 seed and former junior #1. Katie S likely the distinctly tougher match...

Galfi wins now, so just to confirm, and with correct spellings, the two Katies QFs are:

QF: (4) Katie BOULTER (GBR) 222 vs Anastasia PIVOVAROVA (RUS) 532 (CH:93 May 11)
QF: (6) Katie SWAN (GBR) 345 vs (2) Dalma GALFI (HUN) 167 (CH:136 June 17; JCH:1 Sept 15)

With Liam inactive this week Katie B is taking the opportunity to close the gap. I would imagine the prospect of picking up the tab at Stockport Nandos for Broady might be the best motivation Katie has ever had to keep winning.

Not sure what doubles points Katie S gets. Bye, walkover, loss.

Katie S vs Dalma Galfi could be interesting. I've thought that Katie has been in better form even ignoring this week's strolls and Galfi has not really been pulling up trees in recent times.

The Boulter variety of Katie is up first today, and starting well against the former Top 100 & JWR 2 opponent, 4-1*
