I am sure there is a superb reward on the way to whoever took the forum to this landmark.

... maybe not, but such an honour whoever you are

Well spotted! Turns out just 17 of the 3000+ registered members are responsible for half of those posts ... and just 4 (the two of us, SC and CD) for more than 20% of them, which is slightly embarrassing hmm

I was rather afraid that I might be part of the answer ......

No embarrassment for you, steven, but there's definitely a little 'get a life' murmur in my left ear...

So I thought I'd just put one more post as what the hell, might as well be hung for a sheep as for a lamb and all that...smile

Congrats on having a forum that has given rise to half a million posts - I think that's brilliant and a testament to all that is good about the internet and online connection.

LOL when I said embarrassing, I was referring to myself (and I can't even claim credit for 'having' such a forum - that belongs to Sheddie, who may not post so much these days but outpaced any of the gang of four, even you I think, for posts per year in the early days) - some really sterling work and a fair bit of fun goes into keeping the forum going and without the frequent posters providing some kind of structure, it might well have fizzled out long ago.

I wonder if we'll reach a million posts sometime in the 2020s and whether Activeboard is programmed to self-destruct if that happens

Yes, amazing how far the forum has come. Half a million posts is quite something! I'm hugely grateful to all the regulars who keep things ticking over and continue to make this place what it is.

Back in the early days of 2005-2007, it was largely just me plugging away keeping things going, but since then it's been incredible to see how the site continues to grow and grow, even following the advent of twitter and facebook, and is probably the no.1 resource on the web for everything to do with British tennis.

I think the site has been read by the vast majority of British pro players (even Andy) from time to time, and it's also a wonderful resource for all their friends and family to follow their progress.
