Heather recovers from 1-4 to get back on serve, *4-5

First set won, on the TB, 7-6(3) 1-1*
Heather's won 11/21 TB this year the highest number of TB played, and won for any Brit; though others have a higher TB win % (e.g. Emily W-S, who is 9-2 in TB, 81.82%)

Nicole takes the second set 6-4. Always going to be a tough match for Heather, could go either way.

JoKo has drawn Niculescu, followed by Rogers and Peng. A possible last 16 with Ostapenko is on the cards, if they get that far both will already be in Singapore I guess...

Third set also went 6-4 to Gibbs.

Perhaps heather should draw a line under this season and get her mojo back for next. Disappointing.

Disappointing. She's having a tough old time and I think pulling out of HK and Luxembourg would be sensible.

Have a holiday, clear the head and then have a great off season block.

Hev posted on Twitter about lots of positivity from others when winning, but silence when losing and when you are having a bad time you need more support.

Maybe Heather needs to take the Jo approach to her game from a couple of years ago. I sometimes wonder how far some of our players are prepared to go to become elite players. The question has been answered in Laura's case it seems by now and is looking that for Heather at the moment. 2 points from beating Serena at Wimbledon a couple of years ago, you do wonder what would have happened if she had. Fine margins sometimes.

Or even Azarenka at this year's Wimbledon.

Jo is teaming up in the doubles with Monica Niculescu, Heather with Sloane Stephens and Anna Smith with Nicole Melchar.

I can't see Jo in the doubles draw at all. Nicolescue is playing with Su-Wei Hseih
