week 39 - ITF ($25K) - Clermont-Ferrand, France, Hard - Indoor

We have four women playing in qualifying here this week.

Q1: (q13) Alicia BARNETT (GBR) 682=CH vs (WC) Emma BARDET (FRA) UNR 17yrs

Q1: (q10) Emily WEBLEY-SMITH (GBR) 593 vs (WC) Lea THOLEY (FRA) 833 (CH:576 Feb 13)

Q1:Olivia NICHOLLS (GBR) 943 vs (q7) Anna-Giulia REMONDINA (ITA) 560 (CH:219 May 11)

Q1: (q16) Sarah Beth GREY (GBR) 758 vs Alice BACQUIE (FRA) 1013 (CH:530 Aug 16)

There are two qualifying rounds. It will be interesting to see who plays with who in doubles this week, after Alicia's and Olivia's win last week, but now regular partner to Olivia is back too...

Six years ago !

Well they were both 16, and it was a Grade 4. They met in the QF, Beth seeded 1 and Alice seeded 8

The establlshed and successful pairing of Beth and Olivia will be back in action this week-the first of a series of 25's in which they will be hoping to further improve their doubles rankings.

Sarah Beth is unlucky enough to have been drawn in the same qualifying section as Anna-Lena Friedsam (CH 45 last year), who hasn't played since last year's US Open.

So it's fair to say it will be Doubles only then. No chance other than if her opponent is injured. Fairly tough qualies, would be surprised to see any of them qualify.
