Tara has just won the 1st set tiebreak 7-2 having had 2 set points in the previous game, which Bouzkova finished off with 2 aces

I don't know where this result came from, and frankly, I don't much care!
Well done Tara!
May it be very much more than a blip.

I freely admit that I didn't see that win coming but fantastic that she closed it out , very exciting following live scores even though the stream would't work for me - unlucky for the streak, which ends at 13.

10 points and the winner of a Q v Q match in R2

Super and great that Tara has followed up her very encouraging ( well to most who commented ! ) Quebec WTA International qualifying loss to Arconada last week with this victory. One match you wonder, two you build up more hope.

Welcome back, Tara, please stay around

That says it all very well Interestingly, it's the first time she has played doubles with Conny apart from Wimbledon since May, just after the singles loss to her that started the losing streak. I haven't checked how often they have been at the same tournaments (but not playing doubles) in that time but maybe she's just feeling better with both of them in the same place and that was a contributory factor. If so, a pity Conny's favourite surface is Tara's least favourite!

Indeed, the narrow loss in Québec City was quite encouraging too, and at first signt, it looks like that was the first time they'd been at the same tournament since Wimbledon.

Great news Tara. Let's hope it's a good omen for Laura too.
