The boys continue to push up through the doubles rankings and that already should see Jonny following Scott into the top 200.

It looks like Jonny and Scott have won by retirement/walkover !

That's 80 points, and $2k, each.

And a great title, whatever way it came, and great week.  Well done.

Absolutely. After all, having disposed of the second seeds in the SFs, they were not in the final because of good fortune, but by merit.

I know there's a lot of ambivalence about WCs, but the WCs received during the grass court season feel as if they may have made a real difference in helping this partnership have the financial and general confidence to go onto the Challenger circuit. And they have sped onwards, as many hoped/suspected they would.

Live rankings (usual caveats) has Mr Clayton in the 150s and Mr O'Mara in the 160s. This time last year, the former was floating in the 370s, and the latter in the 400s. That's quite a rise in 12 months. Well done to them, and may it continue.

What a lovely photo of the two of them. Do so like to see a nice bit of colour coordination

PS Yes, I agree, Spec. I have no ambivalence towards wildcards and the benefits of the Wimbledon ones for this pair were obvious and immediate (makes you wonder about 'what if's re Marcus & Lewis, EWS, Sam Murray, and various others).

PS And just a little shout out for 37-year-old cool dude surfer-man, Stephane Robert, (FRA), who's made the final here.

Nice to see an article about Scott and Jonny on the Beeb tennis page.

And to hear that Jamie Murray and his coach have been helping them out and working with them.
