Liam Broady is seeded 6 in qualifying and starts today against Filip Horansky, who he knows from junior days. Both were top juniors in their year (Filip a year older), with the Slovak edging their one meeting at the Canadian juniors in 2011. The other seed in their section is top seed Radu Albot
QR1: Filip Horansky (SVK) WR 348 (CH = 300 in July 2016) vs (q6) Liam Broady WR 248 (CH = 158 in August 2015)

It's interesting to compare the points and prize money for this event with the equivalent WTA event that Katy Dunne has been competing in. Katy earned double the number of points as Liam for her 1st round win in qualies, but earned a lot less money ($1020 compared to Liam's $4560).

I was thinking the same thing, in fact I was surprised at how how the prize money was in qualifying for Liam. As for the points it was mentioned in another thread that when they changed some of the ITFs around seemed to be a bit of an afterthought or perhaps ignored altogether the points anomaly.
