Vuelta

I see Chris Froome has won todays time trial and looks certain to win the Vuelta now - amazing job to win both this and the TdF in one year, a bit like winning Wimbledon and the US Open in the same season (if the Giro is the French...not sure what the Aus Open equivalent is, maybe the World Championships).

On which front...the World Championships are coming to Harrogate in 2019, what a fantastic thing! Harrogate is going to be the hub with events around Yorkshire over nine days, each one finishing in Harrogate. I recally fondly the TdF coming to Harrogate and Yorkshire in 2014, amazing crowds and scenes, over 150,000 people in Harrogate Town Centre on Stage 1, a million plus en route each day. Cant wait for 2019!

Congrats to Simon Yates on winning the 2018 Vuelta, making all 3 grand tours this year, a bit like Andy, kyle and cam winning back to back slams. And of course froome won tour de France and Vuelta last year so that is 5 on the run.

Impressive times in Gb Road cycling

Simon Yates is a bit under the radar as well. I know it should have won the Giro, but fell away badly.

He doesn't really have a track pedigree like Wiggins or Thomas and doesn't race for the "GB" (Team Sky) so doesn't have the media profile yet.
