Sorry if anyone already posted on it. Seems to create a structure to Scottish tennis, 12 entry level TS 300 events feeding to 4 TS 500 events (each of the 12 TS 300 events seem grouped into 3's, each feeding one TS 500 event). The 4 TS 500 events then feed a TS 1000 event that is effectively a Masters event.
Covering October and November, it looks a good new initiative - prizemoney at the TS 1000 event is £500 to the winner and probably will provide some good , local autumn/winter indoor play for the top Scottish national and junior players
It looks like a good initiative. Over the last couple of months tennis scotland have been promoting it quite a lot on their facebook page with various interviews from club coaches. I have entered the 300 event at DL Costorphine and am looking forward to playing a competition again and hopefully getting some close matches.
If you take a look at the entry lists, most of our top players have entered, including the likes of colin fleming and jonny omara!
I also read somewhere that if it is successful they plan on having an event every winter month with points earned from the tournaments helping to create a national leaderboard

cool, so presumably you are Jonathan Huntley based on the entry lists - good luck , i dont know how they are structured, but is there a chance you could play a Fleming or an O'Mara?
yeh thats right! absolutly zero chance, i am assuming they will be automatically entered into the ts 1000 event. to play them i would need to win the 300 and 500 events and it is already looking like the 500 events will have some seriously good players in them. a good tournament for me would be winning a couple of consolation matches
This looks great, it just shows what can be achieved when you have the right people pushing it. A couple of years ago when I was running singles leagues in Glasgow and Edinburgh and then pushing for a national championships I got zero help from Tennis Scotland. There was always a huge market to reinvigorate people playing singles but no one seemed to care. I wonder how much Colin Fleming backed this since he has joined Tennis Scotland, new ideas from a younger generation of tennis administrators.
This seems to have been a great success with over 500 players competing at the 3 different levels of tournament progression. The Lumsdens took the titles in both mens and ladies.
