Err....Naomi ranked 155 in the WTA rankings with a CH of 54? I don't think so!

LOL, they've fallen for the WTA website trap, and quoted her doubles rankings.

I must admit, it's easy to do

Mike Cation said on his podcast Liam was going to start playing more ATP events as he was felt his ranking wasn't going up in enough in challengers considering how well he had been doing.

Thats the same probelm everyone in good form is having, the ATP need to sort the points situation out.  It's not fair that players like Liam are not getting rewarded for their efforts while others can bottleneck the rankings.  I'm surprised there isn't a lawsuit about it as it's effectively preventing players earning the money they should be.

I guess its a tough one. How many events are still missing from the calendar? For example if Indian Wells points dropped off would this then force the better higher ranked players to play more 250s and 500s? So they held there position. This would then have a knock on affect with higher cutoffs at Challenger and ITF level.
Personally I wouldnt want to be the person making these decisions. The one thing I would say is if they are using quite old results for rankings could they not have a 2nd set of ranking for seeding purposes so those that are in form the last 12 months at least get that advantage.

Good to challenge yourself. But ultimately do so for the right reasons.

Maybe it is naturally time for Liam to look to the ATP tour but I'm not sure that he should do this primarly through pique re his rankings rise being less than it otherwise would have been.

He has been progressing well. I do hope a move up to tour at this time does not stall this.

All being well, the rankings will sort themselves out in time and good points scores will be rewarded and any string of low scores will not be.

All said, I do think it ridiculous that for now players are say going to still hold onto all their IW 2019 points (WTA) or 50% (ATP).

Didn't realise he's shorter than his sister.

Did you realise that according to some sources Naomi is at 6' 2.5" apparently the third tallest woman tennis player of all time (tied with Lindsay Davenport)

I've always felt a bit sorry for Liam that way.

He's pretty short for a male tennis player. A bit more height would be great.

And yet his sister is SO tall.

And his younger brother is really tall (don't know about other sis)

He must sometimes think he got the short straw
...

Liam is currently the highest ranked player to not win an ATP or challenger tour title in their career.
