Yes whatever form Xenia is appearing in at the moment, she is too good for Anna and Nicole. I think they'd like a first round match now without her lining up other side of the net. Two wasted opportunities for them in the last two weeks, even if I'm not quite sure why they are playing on clay.

They won a WTA on clay a few months ago and where else are they going to play?

Well, I'd rather have expected them to prepare for the US hard court season that starts next week... and so perhaps have played in Canada instead, even if ITF tournaments.
Well I'm not sure I follow that logic and don't forget that Anna is half Swedish, this tournament is like a second home for her. Anna and Nicole have entered Toronto in two weeks but looks like they have not quite made the cut. No idea about next week.
Oh, I hadn't known Anna was half Swedish. Yes, then I agree that does make much more sense then. I suppose they were hoping to use these last two weeks to improve their overall ranking for the hardcourt season, which sadly they've failed to do.
Also with their ranking and general recent success pitching up a North American 60K would be pretty novel though I assume allowed.
The only pairs there with a CR of less than 400 are the #1 seeds, CR 273 in Granby and CR 341 in Sacramento, so it's not as if other well ranked pairs are stealing some sort of march.
And yes, I imagine they wanted to push on with getting more higher level success. Rankingswise ( and money helps too ), with a lowest counter of 50, Anne could only add a net 30 even if they won a 60K. Not sure about Nicole's lowest counter.
So without even knowing Anna was half Swedish, if playing this week a WTA International made great sense. And the alternative was yes on hard courts but away in China.
I guess the Swedish link maybe swung it to playing at all this week.
