There was a short rain delay after that 1st set, but even so, the match has been going on for nearly 3.5 hours. Kozlov took the 2nd set 6-2 then Brydan was 5-2* up in the 3rd only for Kozlov to hold two very close service games (Brydan had a match point at 5-4*) and break in between.
BK is now serving at 7-6(9) 2-6 *5-5 break point down ... back to deuce ... ace for ad-in ... back to deuce again

After 3h 35m, we're into a final set tiebreak, which BK starts in inauspicious fashion with his 12th double fault (c.f. 6 aces - Kozlov has just 5 aces and 16 dfs!), though he gets the mini-break back right away.

Looks like many long games, particularly actually the second set which had 78 points for its 8 games so all 3 sets very competitive. 278 points in all, 145-133 to Kozlov, but Brydan so close to winning on what ultimately counts.
With his current ranking could have maybe done with another win tonight, and hence MD qualification, with the US Open qualifying list based on the rankings a week on Monday.
He is currently WR 226 on 230 points, will drop 15 points tomorrow and now a net 1 point a week on Monday (7-6) to leave him then on 214 points.
Not sure what the approximate likely required ranking will be for qualifying.
