Bravo, Farris ! He made it as far as one game before retiring...... :(
Not wishing to be mean but if you're continuously not fit, and retiring in more matches than you actually finish, it's very bizarre to keep putting yourself out there......

Do you think anything ever gets said to him. It seems like every week or every other week. Even at this level it is just the same as what was being said during Wimby about the number of 1st rd retirements. It just robs another player of a valuable place in the main draw.
Someone from the ITF really ought to speak to him. It happens far too often. And they always have thr right to refuse his entry without giving a reason if they feel inclined.
We don't know all the facts of course but it seems very strange to me that tournament after tournament you can be well enough to compete in the doubles event but always pull up in the singles. Am I missing something here. In doubles you still have to serve, run about, hit the ball etc. Surely if you are unwell or injured and cannot compete in one then you would not be able to compete in the other. I say this very carefully but does Farris enjoy doubles more than singles because to me his pattern of retirements in only the singles only constantly smacks of somebody just starting the match to get the couple of hundred dollars for turning up and losing. Once or twice ok but how many times now is this and we mortals on here have picked up on it so I hope someone from the ITF does indeed speak to him about this continual pattern. Would love to know his reasons.
